Day in the Life of Taylor Swift

If I could trade places with a famous person for the day it would be Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is famous for her music. She started writing songs at twelve but got famous at nineteen. Her most successful songs are, Shake it Off, Love Story, and Blank Space. She’s won eleven Grammy awards and many other awards.

One of the reasons I want to experience Taylor Swift’s life is because she has many supportive fans. Her fans are always there for her whenever something happens in her personal life. They send her fan mail and Instagram DM’s comforting her, telling her that she is amazing and to not listen to the haters. When I am feeling down, I need someone to be there with me to make me believe that everything is okay. Having millions of fans comfort you would be a dream. Secondly, she has a net worth of $450 million. Having a net worth that high is unreal. I could buy anything I wanted. For example, I could buy myself a new mansion in Hollywood along with an expensive car. Finally, I would be living with big fluffy cats. Taylor owns three cats. Two are Scottish folds named Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson and the last one is a Ragdoll named Benjamin Button. Olivia Benson actually has a net worth of $97 millon since she is in many of Taylor’s music videos. I love cats, so living with these famous cats sounds so exciting!

A Dream-Like Day

It would be a dream to have a perfect day and it would be like this. On a Saturday morning, I would wake up around seven thirty to get ready for my mom to take my friends, Kim, Brianna, Molly, Alexandria, Brittney, and I to Disneyland without my siblings. My siblings always ruin our plans to go somewhere fun. During the day, my mom would buy us all our favorite food like churros, and let us on any ride we want to go on. Some of the rides we would go on are, the Alice in Wonderland teacup ride, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and of course we have to visit Mickey Mouse in his cartoon-like house. After we go on all the rides, we would go see the Disney princess’s and take pictures with them as memories for when we are old. When everyone is tired we would head home and we have a sleepover. My dad would order a pizza for us to eat and set up a projector to watch Disney movies. For a fact, Brianna would request to build a fort in the living room. Everyone would create their own separate rooms in the fort with blankets and pillows. Once done so, we would all make chocolate chip cookies and at around seven o’clock. Eleven o’clock is usually the time everyone starts to feel sleepy so we would all head to bed at this time.

Baby Life

A fun age to be forever would be a year old. To start off, at the age of one you don’t really have to do anything. All you have to do is eat, cry, and go to the bathroom. Your parents pretty much do everything for you. I could sleep all day if I wanted to. Secondly, I wouldn’t have to worry about school or chores. The only words I would know would be, “Mama” and “Papa”. Of course my mom would have to teach me how to talk eventually but for the most part, no tests for school. In my little mind, math does not exist, so my father cannot ask me random math questions just to test how much I know. Also, I can’t wash the dishes because I wouldn’t be tall enough to reach the sink. No doing the laundry because I’d probably climb into the washing machine and that would not end good. Finally, I could get away with anything. If I wanted something from the store really bad, all I have to do is throw a tantrum and my parents would buy me whatever so that I could be quiet. I know for a fact that if I did that at my current age, I would get yelled at. There are so many more reasons why I want to be a year old forever, those are just a few.

Sparkles

Two weeks ago, my older brother, Bronson, started a business where his employees and him have to dress up as goofy clowns for children’s birthday parties. No one has applied for the job so it was him for now. He was so excited to finally be able to earn money and make people laugh, but the thing is no one has called to make a reservation, until this very morning. “Hello this is Bronson the clown! How can I help you?” my brother said in a high pitched voice. “Well hello there. I’m Cassie. I just wanted to ask you if you were busy this Saturday,” the lady from the other side of the phone asked. Bronson replied with, “No actually, I am free all of this week!” She exclaimed, “That’s great then. Is there a chance I can get two clowns for my son’s birthday party? Or is that not possible?” My brother turned to look at me with a smirk on his face. I mouthed “No..” while still chewing on the bacon I was eating. “Oh yeah…that’s totally possible.” My brother snorted. I really did not want to dress up as a clown for little babies. “Perfect! I’ll send you the information and we can talk about the details later. Thank you!” They continued to talk for a bit then hung up after. “Bronson you know I hate clowns. Why would you say that?” I cried. “Whatever Andrea. I need this money to help mom,” He lied. “And by that you mean you actually need the money to buy ridiculous things from Amazon.” “Hey, shush. No one asked.” Bronson always says that he knows I’m right but doesn’t want to admit it. “Yeah, yeah whatever. But do I have to dress up,” I asked. “No, you don’t need a costume to look like a clown.” He laughed and headed over to his room.

I hated my brother so much. He’s always making me do stupid things I don’t want to do. “Are you even going to pay me?” I shouted so that he could hear me. “No! Now please shut up I’m on a call with my girlfriend.” The door slammed shut. “Ugh.” I groaned out loud. I don’t know what I’m going to do. Saturday is in four days. Where do I get my costume from? Where is the party going to be at? I had so many questions so I had no choice but to ask Bronson for answers. I knocked on the door and quietly asked, “Bronson are you giving me a costume?” Then he shouted, “Yeah and once I hit a home run, everyo- ANDREA GO AWAY I TOLD YOU TO BE QUIET! Anyway, back to my baseball story.” I heard him walk towards the door and lock it. I honestly don’t know how his girlfriend can deal with this guy when all he talks about is himself and how “amazing” he is. He isn’t even good looking either. “But-” “GOOOOOOOO AWAYYYYYY!” Bronson yelled very slowly. Sometimes I just wish everything could go my way.

I went outside. Nature always seems to calm me down when I’m stressing out for some reason. Maybe it’s the peaceful sounds the leaves make when they twirl around in the wind. Or maybe it’s the smell of the red roses near me. Could be the sight of the blue sky or the green grass. Whatever it is, it’s working. I sat on a chair next to a small hole covered with…blue sparkles? It’s probably left over glitter from my art project. I thought. I didn’t think much of it so I switched my attention to a beetle flying right towards me. I smacked it away. The beetle fell to the floor and landed exactly one centimeter away from the mysterious hole. The beetle made a loud screaming sound. “What the..” Suddenly, about twenty beetles started flying towards me. “AHHHH” I screamed. “WHAT IN THE WORLD,” I tried to jump up out of the chair but I was stuck. It was like somebody had superglued me to the chair. The beetles all worked together to push over my chair. “WHAT IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW” Once they did so, I fell over and my finger touched the blue glitter and my vision began to fade.

“Andrea! Wake up!” My mom yelled from the hallway in front of my room. “WHAT HAPPENED?” I shouted looking around all confused. “Oh dear,” She walked over to my bed and sat on the edge, “You look like you’ve just seen a ghost. What’s wrong?”. “THE BEETLES? BLUE SPARKLES? Wait was it all a dream?” My mom giggled “I think so mija. Come on you need to eat. Your food is getting colder and colder the more we talk! But you could sleep in if you wanted to. I am going to be so late to work! Okay I need to get going. Adiós.” She kissed my forehead and sprinted away. “That dream felt a little too real.” I said to myself. I got out of bed an hour later and headed over to my kitchen. Bacon? Again?

“Morning,” Bronson said in a sleepy voice. I looked at him weirdly. “What’s up with you?” He asked. “You never say ‘Morning’. It’s weird to hear you say that,” I explained. “What do you mean? I always do,” He looked genuinely confused. “Well anyway, can you now tell me if you’re getting me the costume or am I going to have to get it myself?” I asked while getting my food. “What costume?” He turned to look at me. “The clown one? You know, the one I have to wear on Saturday for the party?” “What party? There’s going to be a party on Saturday?” I’ve never seen Bronson more confused in his life. “Yeah Bronson the lady you were on a call with yesterday made a reservation so now we both have to dress up as clowns on Saturday.” Bronson bursted out laughing. “Oh really! Are we also going to dress up as unicorns and give fairies rides over mountains because they are the size of a beetle?” I was starting to get annoyed. “No Bronson I’m being serious. I really don’t want to dress up as a clown. Check your recent calls.” “Alright I will, but I would never make you do something you didn’t want to do.” Why has he been so nice? He pulled out his phone and showed me that his most recent call is from mom. “Scroll down a bit,” I suggested, “it should be there.” He scrolled down but the only calls were from me and mom. “Did you delete your recent calls list?” I asked while grabbing his phone. “No I’m too lazy to do that.” “Did you and Melissa break up?” I was so confused. “No? Wait who’s Melissa?” I stared at him for a while. “You’re joking right?” “No I have no idea who that is,” exclaimed Bronson. I could usually tell when he’s lying, but today I couldn’t. “This is so weird.”

I walked out to the backyard. “Am I living in a dream? No I can’t be,” I said to myself. “Wait is the beetle still there?” I ran over to the chair. It was laying on its back and I could have sworn I heard humming. It was not like that before. The beetle was on the floor but it looked somewhat alive. It’s legs were moving around. “I wouldn’t be surprised if the blue sparkles have something to do with this.” I started looking around for any sign of the glitter but it was no where to be seen. I looked at the beetle. “You ate it huh.” I mumbled. “Not really.” The beetle replied. “AHH WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY. IT CAN TALK?” I cried out loud. “I could always talk. I just chose not to,” the little creature explained. I stayed still and took some time to process what just happened. “Are you okay?” The beetle questioned. “No I don’t think so,” I paused for a second, “Umm. Can you tell me what happened yesterday?” I desperately asked knowing I looked so dumb talking to a nearly dead beetle. The beetle still laid on its back. “To be honest, I don’t really know. Life flashed before my eyes,” I laughed and bent over to pick up the beetle. “Hey! Don’t touch my right leg! It really hurts!” The beetle cried. “My bad, my bad.” I giggled.

“So you didn’t eat the blue glitter?” I asked while walking towards my house. “No! That stuff tasted horrible! When you threw me to the ground, a little bit of it flew into my mouth. That’s why I screamed,” it explained. “Ohhh I thought you screamed because you hit the ground hard,” I chuckled. “No, no I didn’t. I started feeling the pain after I tasted the glitter.” “Andrea! I’m going to the store. Do you want anything?” Bronson yelled from the front door. He’s never asked me what I wanted from the store before. “Nothing really.” I replied. “Well I‘ll buy you candy anyway.” He closed the door and I soon heard his car start. “He’s been acting so strange today,” I told the beetle, “He’s always so mean to me.” It said, “You think this had something to do with what happened yesterday?” The beetle tried to turn on its side but failed and ended up hurting it’s right leg even more. “Stay still or you’re gonna hurt yourself,” I warned it. Bronson came running from he door. “Sorry I forgot my phone!” I whispered, “He’s never forgotten his phone before. He’s always on it.” “You’re right. This is so weird. Just me or do you also feel different?” The beetle questioned. “No, no me too. You would think I like this new Bronson, but I really don’t,” I responded. The beetle suggested, “We need to find the glitter. I’m pretty confident it has something to do with this. Let’s go to the library and check if there’s any books on this topic.”

“Do you have any books on blue glitter?” I asked the librarian. I looked ridiculous. I was still in my pajamas and carried around a beetle in my left hand. “No, I don’t think we do,” she told us in an annoyed tone. “Well do you have any books on witchcraft?” She stared at me. “Yes actually. But what are you up to?” She looked at the beetle and raised an eyebrow. “Nothing! I just love reading about dark magic!” I laughed awkwardly, “So where are the books?” “They should be near the entrance. Right over there,” she pointed to a book shelf labeled Self-transformation. “Be careful,” She added. “She’s coming.”

I walked over to the books and started going through them. “I can’t find anything,” I cried. A little girl tapped my shoulder, “Do you need help?” She asked. Her voice sounded so familiar. The beetle started shaking its head. I looked at it confused. “Yes I do. Can you help me find a section about blue sparkles and a talking beetle?” She looked at the beetle on my hand. “Sure!” She immediately grabbed a book from the shelf and turned to page 333. “There you go!” She handed the book to me. Something was off about this girl. She was small like a eight year old but her voice sounded much older. “Thank you. Wow that was so fast.” I studied the book. On the first page, it stated everything about beetles and how they have a lot to do with magic. The second page was all about blue dust. Coincidence? I looked up and was startled to see the little girl was staring into my soul. Her eyes turned a bright shade of blue. Exactly like how the blue sparkles looked. “What happened dear?” She started to smile. Everything began to white and I couldn’t f

I woke up with a massive headache. I opened my eyes and looked around. My vision had a blue tint. Almost like I was wearing blue sunglasses. I started to realize I wasn’t in my room. I was on a table? Copies of the creepy little girl I saw yesterday surrounded me. There were so many of them. “Where am I?” I cried while trying to stand up. But I couldn’t. It was almost like a strong force was holding me down. “Stay still sweetie. It will be over soon,” one of the girls said. “What?” I asked desperately. I heard constant scream coming from the room next door. It sounded just like the beetle. “BEETLE?” I yelled. “Mira is fine don’t worry,” another girl told me. “Mira? It had a name?” I asked but didn’t expect an answer. I heard a loud BANG and the screaming stopped. A tear flew done my cheek.

A girl came out of the room holding a glass cup with blue glitter in it. “Here you go,” she said with a smirk. Another girl took it from her and inserted it in a syringe. Second biggest fear. Needles. “Please! Don’t do this to me,” I shouted. She started walking to me holding the syringe up in the air. “Plea..” I whispered. I closed my eyes. “What’s the date?” A girl asked. “October 8th 2022. It’s a Saturday. Remember? She’s been knocked out for three days.” Suddenly I sprung up. All the girls were shocked. I started to run to the door. “CASSIE PIN HER DOWN BEFORE SHE ESCAPES!” Cassie? The girl that called my brother for the clowns? I opened the door and ran for my life. “SHE’S TOO FAST!” Cassie cried. I run down so many endless halls. I was so out of breath. “DO NOT LET HER BROTHER, BRONSON, SEE HER OR HE WILL RUIN THE WHOLE PLAN!” One of Cassie’s copies yelled. “BRONSON?” I called out desperately. “Andrea?” I heard Bronson say from a room four doors down where I was. “No, no! That was just me, Cassie! Why don’t you go to the kitchen and eat one of the blue sparkly cupcakes? They are delicious!” Cassie lied. “NO DO NOT EAT THEM BRONSON!” I shouted while still running, “HELP ME!”

Bronson came out of the room and I bumped into him and we both fell to the floor. He was wearing his clown costume. “Andrea? Why are you here? I was looking for you at home but I couldn’t find you so I just came here alone. Mom called me and told me you were at a sleepover with your friends and weren’t going to be back for a couple of days,” he explained. “Listen Bronson. That woman that called you wasn’t mom. We need to get out of here. These crazy people tried to poison me,” I exclaimed. “What?” Bronson shouted. “WHERE DID YOU GO ANDREA?” Cassie yelled. “Come on! Where’s the front door?” We got up. “Over here!” Bronson pulled my arm and we both ran as fast as we could. Luckily the door was unlocked but Bronson took forever to open it. “Hurry! She’s coming!” “Okay, okay I got it!” We ran outside. “Are we on top of a mountain?” I asked, “We are so done for. There’s no way we’ll make it out of here alive,” Tears started running down my cheeks.

“Follow me. I know a way,” I turned back to see the ghost of the beetle. “Beetle! Or Mira? Whatever your name is.” “Who are you talking to Andrea?” Bronson asked. “No time to talk. Come on follow me,” Mira said. He led us to a clear path going down the steep mountain. “WHERE DID SHE GO?” We heard Cassie shout. When we made it down, we entered Bronson’s car and drove away. “YOU MAY THINK THIS IS OVER, BUT IT REALLY ISN’T. MIRA COME BACK HERE!” Cassie yelled as loud as she could.

After I caught my breath, I asked Bronson, “So you said ‘Mom’ called you saying I was at a sleepover?” “Yeah, it was so random too. Now that I think of it, I was pretty dumb to believe that. Mom broke her phone a while ago,” his phone started ringing. It was a call from Melissa. “So you guys didn’t break up?” I asked. “No? Where did you get that idea from?” “Well I don’t really remember when but you told me you didn’t know who Melissa was. You also told me you were going to buy me candy. Where is it?” I laughed. “Huh? I never said that. I would never waste my money on you,” he snorted.
“So you’re telling me that was a dream and this wasn’t?” This week had been the most confusing week ever. Bronson nodded his head. “Then how did I end up here?” I asked. “No idea. Maybe Cassie brought you to her house when you were sleeping? Bronson replied. “Maybe,” I paused to think of another possible way I had ended up there, “What if after I had fallen over and touched the blue glitter, I teleported to her house? But that wouldn’t make sense. How did the beetle know who I was?” I questioned. “I don’t know what beetle you’re talking about but maybe it’s your spirt guide. Don’t beetles have to do a lot with magic? Did it help you in anyway when you were dreaming?” “Yeah actually. It gave me the idea to go to the library to look for answers. He was a good friend,” I said in a sad voice, “Now that I think about it, he was warning me not to talk to Cassie. That’s why he shook his when she asked if I needed help!” Something was finally making sense. “Well believe it or not, I’m glad you’re safe.” Bronson told me softly. “And I do not believe that. You probably wanted me dead,” we both laughed.

Rad Reading – September

In September, I read the book Flirting with Fate by J.C Cervantes. Flirting with fate is a fictional book about a Mexican girl named Ava Granados who has to go through many challenges to get back a special blessing she had lost. Ava has a magical family where every female born into the family gets passed down a blessing. The blessings are like super powers. For example, Ava’s older sisters Carmen and Vivienne got super memory and the power of persuasion as their blessings. But there is a catch. The blessing can only be passed down when the previous female owner is on their death bed.  Unfortunately, Ava had an inconvenience with a random guy involving a small car crash on her way to her house. This prevented her from claiming her blessing from Nana (her grandmother). Nana sends out the blessing in the air and it ends up landing on the guy Ava had a car accident with. Because of this, Ava’s grandmother cannot Rest In Peace until she gets her blessing back. So, Ava has to find a way to get the blessing from the guy.
What my favorite part about this book was the fact that it included so many plot twists that you wouldn’t expect to happen. I also loved the character developments in the book. For example, Ava went from being stubborn to willing to do anything. My favorite character is Vivienne. Vivienne reminds me a lot of me since she’s the oldest sibling like me. I like how she always manages to calm Ava down when she’s stressing out about something. Vivienne is a very protective person. In the book, it says “ ‘You hit someone’s car?’ Viv said, switching into mama bear mode. ‘Was anyone hurt?’ ” after Ava explains to her what happened on the way over to their house. One of my favorite lines in the book is, “But maybe, just maybe, fate really did exist.” This line shows how Ava is starting to realize that fate does in fate exist.
I really recommend reading this book. It really makes you realize how fascinating miracles can be!
